Privacy policy
What we store.
Your handle, display name, avatar, bio, the X and Instagram handles you add to your profile, your age group (and, if you are under 18, an estimate of when you turn 18), the email you sign in with or a recovery email when provided, simulated trades and positions (including perpetual leverage), paper cash, reserved funds, deposits, rewards, rating and battle, league and cup results, followed traders, alert preferences and membership selection. We also store the community posts you share and the posts you like, the traders you block, and the reports you send, with the reason, any details you write and a copy of the post or profile you reported. When you are signed in, the server keeps one saved copy of your progress so it can follow you to another device: your paper portfolio and trade history, Academy progress, streak, course choices, onboarding answers and trade journal notes (up to 1,000 characters each, with any rating you give). Account data is stored on our server to support account recovery, portfolio tracking, leaderboards and community features. The server records portfolio value from your last synced paper positions while the app is closed, once a day after 30 days away. Portfolio history is kept for up to 2 years and stored in less detail as it ages; your account's first value and one value a week are kept until the account is deleted. Book progress, reading notes and daily reflections stay on this device under your account.
What others can see.
Your profile is public: anyone with your handle, in the app or on trenches.academy, can see your handle, display name, avatar, bio, X and Instagram handles, Elite badge, rating, streak, cup badges, best Academy Run, follower and following counts, how many paper trades and liquidations you have had, how many Pro Cup weeks you finished in the top three, and your simulated portfolio, including its value history, profit and loss, recent paper trades and open paper positions. When you follow someone, people who follow you can see your handle in the "Followed by" line on that person's profile. Leaderboards, leagues, battles and cups show your handle and results to other players, and posts you share are visible to other people. Your email, age group, trade journal notes and coach chats are not shown to anyone else.
Age check.
Before you create an account we ask how old you are. We use your answer once to check that you can use Trenches. We keep only your age group and, if you are under 18, an estimate of when you turn 18, so your account can move to the adult group on its own. Together with the date you answered, that estimate shows the age you gave. We do not ask for or keep your birth date.
Password reset emails.
When you ask to reset a password, your email address and a one-time link are sent to our email delivery provider (Resend) only to deliver that message. The link expires after 30 minutes and is stored on our server only as a scrambled code.
Analytics.
The app records product events: which screens you open, which buttons you tap, how long steps take and how they turn out, such as the result of your first practice trade. Each event carries a random device id and, once you are signed in, your account id. Events can also carry the host name of the website that sent you to Trenches and the campaign tags in the link you followed. They help us see where people get stuck. We do not use session recording or screen replay, and product events never contain what you type, your email, your password or your messages. Events are kept for 90 days. When you sign up, the referring website and campaign tags are also saved on your account and kept for as long as the account exists. Deleting your account removes them, and removes your account id and device id from events. The ad counts described under Rewarded video ads are the exception: they carry neither id. When a screen in the app fails, the app sends us a short error report with the error message, the screen and the app version, and nothing else: no account id and no device id. Error reports are kept for 90 days.
Rewarded video ads.
In the iPhone app, anyone without Elite can choose to watch a short video ad for a reward, such as extra energy or an extra life in Academy Run. A video only plays after you tap to watch one, and Elite members see no ads. The ads come from Google AdMob, and we ask Google for non-personalized ads only. For an account our server has confirmed as 18 or older, Google's consent tool (the User Messaging Platform) asks for your choices where the law requires it, and Ad privacy choices in Settings lets you change them later. Every other account, and anyone not signed in, is marked as under the age of consent in every ad request: the consent tool shows no form, and Google shows only limited, non-personalized ads. When a video loads, Google's software on your device collects information to show and measure the ad and to prevent fraud: your IP address, which can show your approximate location; device identifiers that belong to this app or to us; the ads you see and how you interact with them, such as views and taps; and app performance and crash information. We do not ask for permission to track you, so the app never gives Google your device's advertising identifier. Google handles this information under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and explains how it uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. From Google we receive only totals, such as how many ads were shown, not information about you. The app also counts ad offers, taps and finished videos for us without your account id, device id or advertising identifier, and those counts are kept for 90 days. To report an ad that looks wrong, use Report an ad in Settings.
What we do not collect.
We do not ask for bank details, card numbers, wallet private keys, your device address book or precise device location. Network requests include an IP address, which is used for security, rate limits, referral attribution and spotting two accounts on one connection battling each other. When a video ad loads, Google also receives it (see Rewarded video ads). Simulator balances have no cash value.
AI coach.
With your permission, your messages and a summary of your simulated trades, holdings and learning progress are sent to Anthropic to generate Toro's replies. When you ask Toro to explain a tracked trader's move, the public row you are looking at and your question are sent instead. When an Elite member asks Toro to review a finished practice battle, the numbers of that battle are sent instead: each trade's side, prices, timing and paper result. The review is saved on your account so it opens again without another request. Trenches saves up to 30 chat exchanges per account and records reply counts to enforce monthly allowances. Clear chat removes their text; deleting your account removes your coaching records and battle reviews. Do not include secrets in your messages.
App Store purchases.
When you purchase a membership, Apple processes the payment. We verify and store transaction and original-transaction identifiers, product identifiers, the purchase environment, purchase and expiry dates, trial status and any refund, revocation or grace-period information needed to provide access. A random purchase token links the transaction to a purchase session, and a hashed recovery proof protects that link until you attach it to your Trenches account. We associate verified purchases with your account for restoration and access checks. When you buy a paper cash pack, we store its transaction identifiers, product, purchase date, any refund date and a record of the paper cash added or removed, linked to your account so the cash is added once and a refund takes it back. We do not receive your card number, bank details or Apple Account password. Apple keeps its own billing records under its privacy policy.
Artwork safety.
Public token artwork and external trader images are sent to Anthropic for automated content moderation before display. Approved copies are cached on our server. Unreviewed, rejected or unavailable images use a placeholder. Automated checks can make mistakes; use the support contact to report inappropriate artwork. This process does not send your account details, private messages or simulated positions.
Third parties.
Render hosts the backend. Public market data comes from providers including Solana Tracker, Hyperliquid, pump.fun, PumpPortal, GeckoTerminal, DexPaprika, Binance, CoinGecko and Kraken. Hyperliquid, PumpPortal, GeckoTerminal, Binance, CoinGecko and Kraken can be contacted directly by the app on your device, so they receive your IP address and basic connection details. The others are reached through our server. Token searches can be sent to market providers, and shared search-result caches retain their queries. When enabled, Apple or Google processes social sign-in and Twilio processes phone verification; Trenches stores the verified account identifiers and contact details needed to maintain your account. Available App Store purchases are handled by Apple; we do not receive your card number. In the iPhone app, Google AdMob provides the rewarded video ads you choose to watch, and Google's User Messaging Platform asks for ad privacy choices where the law requires it (see Rewarded video ads).
Where your data is processed.
Render hosts our server and its database. Render, Anthropic, Apple, Google, Resend and Twilio are based in the United States and may process your data there and in other countries where they or their suppliers work, so if you use Trenches from another country, your information leaves that country. The market data providers named under Third parties receive only what is described there.
Public trader data.
Trenches also shows trading that other people made public outside the app: pump.fun profiles with their trades and callouts, wallets on public blockchains and on Hyperliquid, and company insider trades filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. We collect this from those public sources and show the profile name, wallet address or filer name with the trades the source published. If one of these profiles, wallets or filings is yours, we hide it from the trader pages, feeds and trackers in Trenches on request and keep a record of the request. A coin's holders, top traders and bubble map still show every wallet in that coin, as the blockchain itself does. Send the profile link, wallet address or filer name to mikaelprada18@gmail.com
Email.
A recovery email is used for account and support purposes. We do not send newsletters unless you request them. Sign-in credentials and verification records are used to authenticate your account, not for advertising.
iPhone app list.
Before the iPhone app is on the App Store, you can join a list on trenches.academy to hear when it is out. We keep your email, whether you use an iPhone or an Android phone, the page you joined from, the country your connection came from, your account id if you were signed in, and when you joined. We use them only to email you when the iPhone app is out or open for pre-order, and to learn which phones people use. Nobody else sees the list and we never sell it. When we email the list, your address goes to our email delivery provider only to deliver that message. The list is for people 13 and older. Every email about it has a link to leave the list, and leaving deletes your entry. Deleting your Trenches account deletes an entry made while you were signed in. We keep the list until you leave it or until we delete it after the iPhone app is out. You can also ask us to take you off it at the address under Contact.
Copyright notices.
When we receive a copyright notice or counter-notice, we keep it, including the names, contact details and signature it contains, together with a record of the material it names, what we removed or restored and when. We use these records to handle the claim, apply our repeat-infringer policy and respond to legal claims. We may send a copy of a notice to the person who posted the material, and a copy of a counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Copyright and DMCA policy.
Your choices.
Edit your profile or delete your account from Profile settings. Account deletion removes the active server account and associated records; backups may retain older copies until they expire. A few records stay after deletion, without your profile: a referral record with both account ids, the paper cash each side received and the date, so the same invite is never rewarded twice; battle challenges you took part in, with your account id, rating and paper result and, for a challenge you created, a scrambled code made from your network address, used to spot two accounts on one connection battling each other (unfinished ones are canceled); and, if you unsubscribed from marketing email, a scrambled copy of that address so it is never emailed again. Reset paper account clears this device. You can clear coaching chat, turn off AI sharing in the coach and change alerts in Settings. Book notes are removed from this device by account deletion or reset. Account deletion removes the purchase-to-account link and does not cancel Apple billing; use Apple subscription settings to cancel. Reconnecting a purchase after deleting its account may require support and ownership verification.
Your rights.
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it for a purpose. You can edit your profile and delete your account yourself in Profile settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. For anything else, write from the email on your account, or tell us your handle, at mikaelprada18@gmail.com
Children.
Trenches is for people 13 and older. If we learn a child under 13 has an account, we close it and delete its data within 30 days. Backup copies are removed when those backups expire on their normal cycle. Parents can contact us at mikaelprada18@gmail.com
